The state of
New York
wants to lease a new or existing 72,000-square-foot building in the
Albany
region to serve as a data center for the Office for Technology.
The state has set aside $99.5 million for property acquisition,
studies, appraisals, surveys, testing, environmental impact statements and
design and construction management services for the project.
Proposals are due Aug. 21 to the state Office of General
Services.
The building must have 19,415 square foot of non-raised floor
space for operational needs and 52,300 square feet of raised floor, at
approximately 125 watts per square foot. Additional square footage will be
required for ancillary electrical and mechanical equipment.
Parking for 50 vehicles is required near the facility. There must
also be room for a possible expansion of about 18,700 square feet of
raised floor space.
The state intends to sign a lease/purchase agreement for 15 to 25
years and occupy the property by Jan. 1, 2011.
