The Business Alliance for Tech Valley High School certainly
agrees with the Times Union in its selection of Dan Liebert, principal of
Tech Valley High School, as one of its 25 individuals who are making a
difference in the region ("Agents for change," Jan. 6).
During his career as an
educator, a designer of successful school programs and now principal of
Tech Valley High, Dan is working to help change public education.
As the new year begins, the Business Alliance is more inspired than ever
to work with Tech Valley High, Dan, its teachers and students. Leaders in
business, higher education, government and organized labor are providing
ongoing connections with the real world of work for the school, its
teachers and students.
We believe that they are adding value by providing this connection to
shape curriculum, enhance work-force development in the region, create
professional development programs for teachers and help affect a regional
transformation in education.
We expect that the power and spirit of collaboration will help provide a
strong link between the region's technologies, businesses and colleges --
a partnership that will not only strengthen the school's curriculum and
its teaching of 21st century learning skills, but also potentially the
124,000 students in seven area counties that the school draws from.
As an organization, the Business Alliance for
Tech
Valley
High School
looks forward to a very productive and challenging year and always
encourages students from the region to check out the school and apply. We
are all part of a great wave of change that is strengthening our region.
